$18 million in Obama stimulus grants went to people who were dead.

• There is no provision in the law that any such payments need to be returned.

The Social Security Inspector said a little more than half has somehow been returned.

10/7, AP: "But about $18 million went to nearly 72,000 people who were dead, according to the report by the Social Security Administration's inspector general.... But, the report said, there is no provision in the law to recover payments incorrectly sent to dead people....The report estimates that a little more than half of those payments were returned."...
