US personal income drops UNEXPECTEDLY in Aug. 2011, previous month revised SHARPLY LOWER

9/30/11, "Personal Income Unexpectedly FALLS In August -- Last Month Revised Lower," Business Insider, Joe Weisenthal

"The number is out.

Personal income unexpectedly fell 0.1%. Analysts had expected growth of 0.1%.

Personal spending did grow in line with expectations of 0.2%.

Last month's number for income was revised sharply lower, from 0.3% to 0.1%.

Markets haven't moved too much on the news, but they remain sharply lower heading into the opening bell."

Almost a year after we gave Nov. 2010 elections to the House GOP to defund ObamaCare, we find it's 'deadlocked in the Appropriations Committee'

ObamaCare needed to be defunded immediately and could have been, independent of the Senate. Now we find such moves aren't even close to being 'marked up.' In other words, drop dead. Proving again how well deserved the House GOP's minority status was before Nov. 2010. They love ObamaCare, despise the American middle class, and are happier being a tiny minority.

9/29/11, "Draft spending bill would defund Obama healthcare law," The Hill, Sam Baker

"House Republicans released a draft spending bill Thursday that would cut off funding for many parts of the healthcare reform law, though the bill remains deadlocked in the Appropriations Committee.

The draft legislation would attempt to derail implementation of the law. It would specifically block any money from going to the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight — the office handling the bulk of the implementation effort — as well as the recently disbanded office in charge of setting up the controversial CLASS program.

All told, the bill would rescind $6.8 billion, according to the Appropriations Committee. It would block funding for the Affordable Care Act until legal challenges over the law’s individual coverage mandate have been settled.

But the bill isn’t likely to see a markup any time soon. Although it would cut spending on a wide range of programs within the Health and Human Services Department, its total spending levels are still too high for two of the committee’s Republican members.

The draft bill adheres to the spending levels agreed to in a deal to raise the debt ceiling. Reps. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) and Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), however, have objected to appropriations bills with spending levels higher than those contained in the House-passed budget resolution.

The budget allotted $139 billion for the bill that funds HHS along with labor and education programs. The draft released Thursday would cost $153 billion.

The draft also includes several policy riders, such as cutting off federal funding for NPR and the “Race to the Top” education program."

Although original estimates reported that it created 159 new government agencies,[3] later studies show even more, but that an exact count is impossible due to the complexity of the law. The new law also attempts to bypass the normal appropriations process, another feature that makes defunding more difficult. By making advance appropriations for tens of billions of dollars up to and beyond the year 2020, these provisions of Obamacare seek to take spending decisions away from the current Congress and from future Congresses and Presidents. Although Obamacare was not pitched to the public as a mandatory spending entitlement, the details of the legislation reveal an intent to block any future Congress from controlling Obamacare’s spending."...

With this lucrative arrangement in place, Gruber spent the entire year offering public justifications for Obama's health care plan, typically without disclosing these payments, and far worse, was repeatedly held out by the White House -- falsely -- as an "independent" or "objective" authority. Obama allies in the media constantly cited Gruber's analysis to support their defenses of the President's plan, and the White House, in turn, then cited those media reports as proof that their plan would succeed. This created an infinite "feedback loop" in favor of Obama's health care plan which -- unbeknownst to the public -- was all being generated by someone who was receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in secret from the administration (read this to see exactly how it worked)."...

EPA leaves door open to start targeted cap and trade program with nationwide consequences:

1/6/11, "EPA may try cap and trade on its own," Green Hell blog, Steve Milloy

"… and everyone thought cap-and-trade was dead. Sen. John Kerry said so. West Virginia Senate candidate Joe Manchin shot it in a campaign video.
  • Now comes news that the EPA may resurrect cap-and-trade via regulation under the Clean Air Act.

Carbon Control News (CCN) reported today that,

EPA air chief Regina McCarthy has said that any [greenhouse gas] trading program using existing air law authority would have to be established under the [Clean Air Act Section 111(d) New Source Performance Standards (NSPS)] rather than other sections.

While McCarthy denied taking steps to advance this idea, CCN reports,

The agency sought $5 million in its fiscal year 2011 budget ‘to assess and potentially develop NSPS regulations for major industrial sectors and seek, where possible, market-oriented mechanisms and flexibilities to provide lowest cost compliance options’ for reducing GHG emissions, according to EPA’s FY11 Annual Performance Plan. Sources have said EPA’s mention of market-oriented mechanisms is likely a reference to cap-and-trade programs.”

A limitation of cap-and-trade under the NSPS would be that,

… it can only operate within specific industry sectors, rather than operate economy-wide like the trading program that would have been established under legislative proposals for a climate cap-and-trade program introduced in the 111th Congress.

But you can bet that the first industry sector to be regulated would be electric power generators, which would have economy-wide impacts.

Let’s hope that the Republican-controlled House zeroes out any funding the EPA requests for bringing a cap-and-trade Frankenstein to life."

Manchin=Obama. Sarah Palin campaigns for John Raese in West Virginia Saturday.

  • "Manchin=Obama"
10/30/10, "Sarah Palin to Joe Manchin: Stay in West Virginia," Politico, by S. Toeplitz

"On a last-minute visit for Republican John Raese's Senate campaign, Sarah Palin said Democratic Gov. Joe Manchin is a "nice guy" who's better off sticking with his current gig.
  • "He's such a nice governor, I think that 'Manchin in the mansion' just kind of fits," Palin told the crowd at a rally for Raese, gesturing to the governor's official home just down the riverfront street.

It was the only time Palin uttered Manchin's name during her appearance. Instead, she told the crowd that she preferred to call him the

  • "would-be rubber stamp" for President Barack Obama.

Palin's visit was finalized at the last minute, less than 24 hours before she took the stage with Raese and rock guitarist Ted Nugent — and

  • three days before the bulk of voters will head to the polls.
But her eleventh-hour stopover in the sleepy capital underscores just how much Republicans want to win the West Virginia Senate seat — and how nationalized the race has become over the past four months. Within minutes of Palin's arrival, Manchin's campaign announced that former President Bill Clinton would make a second appearance in the state Monday to campaign for the governor.
  • The well-liked Manchin started off the Senate race with a solid lead, but Republicans' strategy to make the contest a referendum on the unpopular president has proved effective — as
evidenced by dozens of black-and-white yard signs lining the amphitheater that read
  • "Manchin = Obama."
Manchin boasts some of the best approval ratings in the country in his role as governor, but Obama has some of the lowest as president, hovering around 32 percent favorability in some polls.

That's why, despite being just blocks from Manchin's residence, Palin mostly steered clear of the governor in her only visit to the Mountain State this cycle. She said she has worked well with Manchin, adding that her preference for Raese over Manchin is "not personal; he's a nice guy."

The polished duo of Palin and Raese and the pony-tailed Nugent made for an odd trio at the Haddad Riverfront Park next to the quickly flowing Kanawha River.

  • While Nugent may be a rock musician — at one point, he picked up his animal-striped electric guitar to play "The Star-Spangled Banner" —

it was Palin who got the rock star's reception. Several young women, barely old enough to vote, showed up with handmade "Team Palin" T-shirts, and one pregnant woman cried when she saw Palin for the first time through the tinted windows of the van as the conservative firebrand pulled up into the driveway.

For Raese, who barely trails Manchin in the polls, a last-minute visit from the kingmaking Palin was quite a coup. Despite the short notice,

  • the former vice presidential candidate drew a crowd of 1,000, according to police estimates.
Raese's wife, Liz Raese, told POLITICO after the rally that she met Palin years ago through an organization she started, Conservative Women of West Virginia. The two have been in touch ever since — though sources say the visit was organized at the last minute Friday afternoon.
  • "I told [Liz Raese] that I had to get to West Virginia," Palin told the crowd, including female supporters she described as "mountain mamas."
Palin also told the Raese supporters that their home state and her native Alaska were not that different. Alaska battles for ownership of its oil resources, while West Virginia counts coal as one of its largest industries and similarly must fight to save it from government control, she said.
  • The mention of coal was met with cheers and hollering from the throng of supporters on the crisp autumn afternoon. Conversely,

the crowd jeered at mentions of the president and references to the cap-and-trade bill, which would stand to hurt the state's coal industry.

Raese told the crowd that just "next door" in Virginia, Obama was campaigning with a Democratic congressman to promote that very bill. Obama appeared with Rep. Tom Perriello Friday evening.

"They're campaigning about cap and trade,

and they're in favor of cap and trade," Raese said."...

Rush Limbaugh again says GOP establishment aims to prevent a conservative from getting the nomination, media types especially getting frantic now

Rush has said this before and eloquently, that they're just as happy being in the minority. Karl Rove certainly exemplifies the rotting GOP establishment but Rush adores him.

RUSH LIMBAUGH show transcript: "My friends, do not doubt me. I know this is going to shock many of you, and maybe disappoint a lot of you. But when you talk about the Republican establishment -- and you've read their pieces today -- you know what I'm talking about: The columnists, the magazine directors, editors, publishers, whatever, they are reaching and searching for a counter to the conservatives. They don't want Herman Cain getting the nomination; they don't want Perry getting the nomination; they don't want Bachmann getting the nomination. The Republican establishment does not want a conservative getting the nomination. If Chris Christie can come along, catch fire, see to it that Palin, Bachmann -- Palin not in, she might get in, who knows, doubt it, but still too soon to say -- if they can co-opt any conservative getting the nomination, they will do it.

Nothing's changed. "But, Rush, but, Rush, Christie's a big conservative." I will reserve my comments for later on in the program. I'll just give you one little hint. I heard a lot of John McCain in that speech. Well, maybe not a lot, but I heard enough to send up a red flag or two."...

"Now, the Republicans live and believe this myth that if they don't compromise, and if they are too critical of the Democrats, that these independents are gonna run right back to the Democrat Party, and it's a lie and it's a myth that has been perpetuated, created by the media and the left precisely to stifle Republican comments, conservative behavior, policy, and everything else. It is designed to make us live in fear of being who we are. It's perpetuated by Republican political consultants who live and work with that 20% of the electorate that's said to be the undecided every election, the independents, the moderates. That's where they make their money, by telling candidates, "I know how to get those voters for you, and here's what you can't do. You can't run out there, don't say Obama's middle name, don't call him Barack Hussein. You do that and you're gonna send 'em running right back to 'em." All that kind of malarkey and they end up muzzling Republican and conservative candidates.

And then they say, "You better talk about compromise. You better talk about bipartisanship. The American people want these two parties to get along." Really? Well, how does the math on that work? One party is abject no doubt socialist. The other party is conservative, constitutional conservative, small government, lower taxes, entrepreneurs, all that stuff, where is the middle ground there? All these wizards, the independents, where do they want the compromise? Where do they want the bipartisanship to be? As far as I'm concerned they've already told us with their votes. ...

We have people in the Democrat Party who think Europe is utopia, 'cause the smart people are in charge and run everything. The elites are in charge of everything. They have 14% unemployment but that's okay, the state takes care of them. They can't defend themselves but that's okay because they don't believe in war, and if we're attacked we'll just call the United States -- and after they defend us, we'll complain and whine and moan about their militarism, their imperialism, but we'll take it. Obama's trying to turn us into Europe as fast as he can, on steroids. I don't want to become Greece. I don't want to become Spain. I don't want to become the UK. That's where we're headed, and it's utterly predictable. So somebody tell me: Where do you want to compromise with Harry Reid? Where do you want to compromise with Nancy Pelosi? Where do you want to compromise with Barack Obama? Where do you want to compromise with Dick Durbin or John Kerry or Chuck Schumer? And then tell me why."

Slanderous Ohio democrats run ads saying republicans are racist and want segregation, again conflating municipal employee members with the poor

Slandering fellow Americans by accusing them of racism-even many who voted for him-was "officially" endorsed by Obama. The famous Journolist even said of republicans, just 'call them racist.' Public sector union members don't have corporate bosses, racist or otherwise as their neighbors pay their salaries and benefits.

9/28/11, "Ohio Democrats and Unions New ‘Jim Crow’ Ad Reaches a Disgusting New Low," BigGovernment, Bytor

"Democrats have never been afraid to use the race card, but this is a new one. Senate Bill 5 and HB194 have nothing at all to do with race. But the union front group “We Are Ohio” and their Ohio Democrat lapdogs are airing a new radio ad that suggests that it is all about race.

As Democrats work to place Ohio’s Republican-backed elections law on hold through a referendum, they’re arguing that the measure is akin to poll taxes, grandfather clauses and other footnotes from America’s Jim Crow past.

But does the same argument apply to Senate Bill 5, the GOP-sponsored limits on collective bargaining for public employees that is currently subject to a referendum as state Issue 2 on the November ballot?

Democratic, labor and African-American leaders say yes.

We Are Ohio, the organized labor coalition seeking to repeal Senate Bill 5, is airing a radio ad that says “Gov. John Kasich and the Columbus politicians have passed two laws to take us back to the days of Jim Crow.”

Remember when we told you how the unions will say ANYTHING to hold onto their power? You’re witnessing that right now. Listen to some of the ridiculous justification for this outrageous ad.

Today, numerous African-American community leaders defended the ad’s content.

Collective bargaining was the voice people used to gain a voice in government,” said Rev. Harold Hudson of Calvary Tremont Missionary Baptist Church. “In a way, Senate Bill 5 does promote segregation because it takes away those rights. Both bills are Republican-designed programs that will hurt people who are underprivileged.

Public employees are NOT underprivileged, Reverend Hudson. They earn 43% more in total compensation than private sector workers, for one thing. They pay much less for their health care, and most have guaranteed pensions that private sector workers only dream of. So, explain to me just how public sector workers are “underprivileged.” You can’t. You just enjoy stoking the flames of racism.

Regarding HB194, you would think it was overturning women’s suffrage or something, the way the Democrats talk about it. It reduces early voting to three weeks. For that, they call the bill “voter suppression” and now refer to it as a Jim Crow law, because three weeks is just not enough time to vote or something.

This ad is repugnant, and Ohio Democrats and unions should be ashamed that they have sunk so low. If they have to resort to these disgusting, negative and false attacks, how can anyone believe what they are saying about the bills at all?"

Democrats and union reps are just following the "official" example of their leader Obama who said many Americans are racist including a bunch who voted for him. The famous Democrat Journolist group even said to silence the opposition,

New evidence shows assault weapons from Obama Fast and Furious ATF program were found in Jan. 2010 in El Paso

"A cache of assault weapons lost in the ATF's gun-trafficking surveillance operation in Phoenix turned up in El Paso, where it was being stored for shipment to Mexico, according to new
  • internal agency emails and federal court records.
Forty firearms along with ammunition magazines and ballistic vests were discovered in Texas in January 2010 during the early stages of the program, meaning the firearms vanished soon after the program began.

Under the program, dubbed Fast and Furious, agents with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the Phoenix field office allowed licensed firearm dealers to sell weapons to illegal "straw" buyers in the hope that the agents could track the weapons and arrest Mexican drug cartel leaders.

Instead, more than 2,000 weapons were trafficked along the U.S.-Mexico border, and many were used in violent crimes in Mexico. In addition, two AK-47 semi-automatics involved in the program were recovered after a U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed south of Tucson, and two others were found after a violent confrontation with state police officers in Maricopa, Ariz.

The El Paso case is the first example of Fast and Furious weapons turning up on
  • this side of the border
  • outside the Phoenix area.
According to an ATF document, Sean Christopher Steward bought the 40 AK-47-type assault rifles on Dec. 24, 2009, from the Lone Wolf Trading Co. gun store in Glendale, a suburb of Phoenix. The cache was part of 290 firearms ultimately acquired by Steward, a convicted drug felon, during the Fast and Furious operation.

Last January, he and 19 others were indicted in the only criminal case to arise out of Fast and Furious.

According to ATF emails and a federal court affidavit, El Paso police officers tracking alleged drug smuggling from Mexico followed a dark blue Volkswagen Jetta as it backed into a garage at a residence on Jan. 13, 2010. The driver was identified as Alberto Sandoval. Police later searched the vehicle and found the weapons and other devices.

According to an email from ATF Special Agent Oscar B. Flores in El Paso, Sandoval told authorities that he was paid $1,000 "to store the firearms at his residence until they could be transported to the Republic of Mexico" by an unknown third party.

More emails discussing Sandoval's arrest and the recovery of the weapons were sent to Washington headquarters and Kenneth Melson, then the ATF acting director, and William J. Hoover, the assistant director.

Sandoval was indicted and pleaded guilty to weapons charges in May 2010 in U.S. District Court in El Paso. He was sentenced to 61/2 years in prison."

EPA Inspector General says Obama greenhouse gas finding violated EPA's own scientific peer review procedure

$300 to $400 billion American dollars will be transferred this year alone via unsubstantiated claims that CO2 is poisonous. EPA relied on UN reports rather than doing its own work.

9/28/11, "Weird Science: EPA Inspector General calls greenhouse-gas regulatory process flawed," Daily Caller, Caroline May

"The report — from the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the EPA — reveals that the scientific basis, on which the administration’s endangerment finding for greenhouse gases hinged,
  • violated the EPA’s own peer review procedure.

In a report released Wednesday (at Sen. Inhofe’s request, dating back to April) the inspector general found that the EPA failed to follow the Data Quality Act and its own peer review process when it issued the determination that greenhouse gases cause harm to “public health and welfare.”

“I appreciate the inspector general conducting a thorough investigation into the Obama-EPA’s handling of the endangerment finding for greenhouse gases,” Inhofe said. “This report confirms that the endangerment finding, the very foundation of President Obama’s job-destroying regulatory agenda, was rushed, biased, and flawed. It calls the scientific integrity of EPA’s decision-making process into question and

  • undermines the credibility of the endangerment finding.”
Inhofe lambasted the EPA for its failure to adhere to its own rules, outsourcing the science to the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Changeand refusing to conduct its own analysis of the science — in the period leading up to its final endangerment finding.

The endangerment finding is no small matter: Global warming regulations imposed by the Obama-EPA under the Clean Air Act will cost American consumers $300 to $400 billion a year, significantly raise energy prices, and destroy hundreds of thousands of jobs. This is not to mention the ‘absurd result’ that EPA will need to hire 230,000 additional employees and spend an additional $21 billion to implement its [green house gas] regime. And all of this economic pain is for nothing: As EPA Administrator [Lisa] Jackson also admitted before the Environmental and Public Works] committee, these regulations

  • will have no affect on the climate.”

According to Inhofe, Jackson has failed in her 2009 vow to commit the Agency to high transparency standards. The senator will instruct the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works to hold hearings to investigate the EPA’s failings.

Given what has come to light in this report, it appears that Obama-EPA cannot be trusted on the most consequential decision the agency has ever made,” Inhofe added.“I am calling for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, the committee of jurisdiction over the EPA, to hold immediate hearings to address EPA’s failure to provide the required documentation and have the science impartially reviewed. EPA needs to explain to the American people why it blatantly circumvented its own procedures to make what appears to be

  • a predetermined endangerment finding.”

(continuing, Gateway Pundit): "About 11 P.M. on Sept. 9, dozens of youths with bats and pipes descended on a tidy residential area of Port Richmond looking for white teens who allegedly had attacked an African-American kid at Stokely Playground a couple of hours earlier.

Two fearful white teens spotted Mark LaVelle on Indiana Avenue near Belgrade Street and asked for help. Suddenly, the mob appeared. LaVelle, who said that he didn’t know the two kids, who looked to be 13 or 14, ran with them into his nearby house.

With the two teens hiding in the house, LaVelle, 5 feet 10, 220 pounds, a well-known sports-league organizer and coach in the community,

  • went outside to try to calm the angry mob.

They were standing on his steps. One shouted, ” ‘Something’s going to happen now!’ ” LaVelle recalled in an interview Friday at his house. LaVelle got nervous and went back inside, locking his door with a deadbolt.

But the attackers pounded on his front windows and kicked his wooden door so hard, it flew open and some of them entered his house.

“The first guy hits me with a pipe. The second guy knocks me in the face. All I’m hearing is my wife and kids screaming,” said LaVelle, who feared that the next time they saw him, he would be in a casket.

He said that he was able to push the attackers out the door, but then a third man – who had a gun – tried to extend his arm. LaVelle grabbed onto the gunman’s lower arm and shoulder so he couldn’t raise the weapon. Then, police sirens screamed in the neighborhood, and the mob turned and ran…

…LaVelle said that the next day the mother of the juvenile came back with some other people, banging on his door, screaming. LaVelle, who

  • was at a charity sports event, was called back to the house by one of his sons.

When he got home, LaVelle said, the mother yelled at him, ” ‘You white mother——, you got my kid locked up! You got my son locked up because he’s black, you’re white!’ “ The mother claimed that her son had been “a witness,” not an attacker. To that, LaVelle said if that were true, it would come out in court.

But the mother, according to LaVelle, then yelled: ” ‘If you make it to court! I know where you live!’ “

More here."

A community newspaper, "The Spirit" first reported on this incident.

'Hillary Clinton realizes you can do whatever you want to the Jews if you have a 'D' after your name.' Hillary does 180 on Jerusalem

9/28/11, "Hillary's Turnabout on Jerusalem," Thomas Lifson, American Thinker

"In a stunning reversal, Hillary Clinton has done a 180 on her position on Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, contradicting the position she took when she was New York's junior senator, and needed Jewish votes. The great Rick Richman writes in the New York Sun:
  • "Secretary of State Clinton, in a sharp departure from her stance when she was a senator, is warning that any American action, even symbolically, toward recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel must be avoided for the reason that it would jeopardize the peace process.
  • Her warnings were issued in a brief she has just filed with the Supreme Court - in which she is arguing that a law she voted for when she was Senator is unconstitutional because it could require the U.S. government to give to an American citizen born at Jerusalem papers showing the birthplace as Israel.
  • The law requiring the government to issue such documents on request passed the Senate unanimously at a time when Mrs. Clinton was a member. But Presidents Bush and Obama have taken the position that the law infringes on the president's prerogatives in respect of foreign policy. Mrs. Clinton is being sued by an American youngster, Menachem Zivotofsky, who was born at Jerusalem in 2002 to American parents who want his birthplace to be listed on his passport as Israel.

I can only assume that speculation about Secretary Clinton running for president is now irrelevant. This is a bombshell as far as pro-Israel voters are concerned."

Commenter to AT

"I think Hillary has finally realized that the Jewish vote is like the Black vote; a solid Democrat constituency. Like the Blacks, you can do pretty much anything you want to the Jews, if you've got a "D" after your name, and you'll still get about 90% of their vote."

Criminal Obama administration funneled $50 million more US taxpayer dollars to solar scam even after its technical default in 2010

Update, Center for American Progress Action Fund cheered for Solyndra too, IBD blog, 9/19/11, via Climate Depot

9/28/11, "Solyndra was in technical default on its loan on 2010, yet DoE extended more credit," Thomas Lifson, American Thinker

"It is starting to look as though all the usual rules were ignored in the rush to shovel taxpayer money at Solyndra, even to the point of overlooking technical default on its loan conditions. Deborah Soloman of the Wall Street Journal reports:
  • "Solyndra LLC had such steep financial problems in late 2010 that the company violated terms of its loan-guarantee agreement with the Department of Energy and technically defaulted on its $535 million loan, according to people familiar with the matter.
  • The failed solar-panel maker, which is under numerous criminal and congressional investigations, ran so short of cash in December 2010 that it was unable to satisfy certain terms of its U.S. loan agreement, these people said. The agreement required Solyndra to provide $5 million in equity to a subsidiary building its factory
  • but cash-flow problems prevented those payments. (snip)
  • Solyndra's problems came to a head in November 2010 when it told the Energy Department it needed $150 million to make it through early 2012, at which time it believed its cash flow would improve. On Dec. 1, 2010, it was unable to make a $5 million payment to its subsidiary and
  • technically defaulted on its loan.
  • The loan was officially restructured in February 2011, giving the company enough money to carry it through August. The company, which had drawn down $475 million of the U.S. loan as of Dec. 31, 2010, ended up borrowing $527 million before its bankruptcy."

So it appears that subsequent to the reported technical default, an extra $50 million of taxpayer dollars were funneled to the politically-connected firm, and in addition,

  • the DoE agreed to subordinate taxpayers to investors in bankruptcy proceedings.

Rep Michael Burgess, R-TX, is demanding an independent investigator be appointed, and he is correct. There is no way the highly politicized Department of Justice under Eric Holder can be trusted to conduct an adequate investigation."

Getting in good with GOP then outraged that CAIR unindicted co-conspirator isn't welcomed into Florida county GOP, claims 'bigotry'

Years of hard work by a Florida GOP activist and blogger gets him in good with CPAC, now he puts it all on the line for a CAIR Islamist getting into the GOP. Coincidentally the author ridicules another GOP member for his pro-Israel agenda. The CAIR GOP wannabe defended by the author
Sharia law has already been used in Florida-evidence for those who need it such as the Shark Tank author-that Islam is much more than a religion. He says we're embarrassing and 'bigoted' for not wanting the CAIR guy in. He ignores that Islam is a political, cultural and legal system based on teachings of a pedophile, and instead says ordinary Americans are bad. We simply want our country back from crime gangs (politely known as 'corrupt public officials') who've taken it over in recent decades. Such 'officials' include most of the GOP Establishment. The political class today is separate from ordinary Americans.

9/28/11, "RedBroward’s Tom Lauder and DeNapoli’s Broward GOP Don’t CAIR for Hamze,", Javier Manjarres (Shark Tank blogger hailed at Muslim-happy CPAC)

"Last night’s Broward Republican Party meeting provided yet another regrettable example of its leadership’s dysfunctional incompetence. Nezar Hamze, the Florida Director of CAIR was slated to be read on to the BREC’s membership roll, but what ensued was an embarrassing display of bigotry that all in attendance were subjected to.
Hamze was denied membership to the BREC after the rules were intentionally changed to specifically keep Hamze from joining. Hamze has been vocal critic of Congressman Allen West, and he has stated that he would not support him in his re-election bid for Congress. BREC Chairman Richard Lee DeNapoli orchestrated the rigged chain of events by planting his operatives in crowd, each of whom had a specific task to carry out during the proceedings.
Before Hamze was to be read on to the rolls, DeNapoli entertained motions to change the rules that govern how prospective members join the local GOP. Never before has the local GOP changed these rules, and it was obvious that this strategy was employed to specifically target Hamze. DeNapoli allowed for one minute for each candidate to speak to why they wanted to join (11 candidates in all), and five minutes for any rebuttal questions. As soon as it was Hamze’s turn to speak, DeNapoli’s supporters began to chastise Hamze, and then during the rebuttal segment, DeNapoli called up on several of his supporters who attacked Hamze
  • with questions such as “What is your religion?”
Prior to the meeting, members or guests were seen distributing an anti-Hamze document, clearly violating what DeNapoli had previously stated which required all literature handouts to be authorized by the BREC prior to distribution. So it was obvious that the fix was in, and the BREC leadership allowed for the document to be distributed- hypocrisy at it’s highest.
Hamze was denied membership by a questionable motion of voting on a secret ballot, losing 158-11. Just to reiterate, the other candidates were not put through the same type of scrutiny that Hamze was- Hamze works for CAIR-FL, and the group’s parent organization the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was named as an unidicted co-conspirator
  • to terrorism several years back and is alleged to have ties to the terrorist group Hamas.
At the end of the circus, Tom Lauder of RedBroward blog, a blog that lacks journalistic integrity and shills for the Charlie Crist Republicans like Richard ‘Dick’ DeNapoli, Colleen Stolberg, Mark McCarthy and others, attacked a congressional candidate by sticking his camera in the candidates’ face and disingenuously questioned her campaign efforts. Lauder literally came inches from her face- showing no class with his aggressive ambush style journalism.
Lauder wrote about the incident on both RedBroward and on and claimed that the Shark Tanks was “Endorsing CAIR Director Memberhip in Florida GOP”. Redstate managing editor Erick Erickson took issue with this post:
Just an Editor’s Note from Erick. I know and fully respect Javier Manjarres. He and I have together endorsed Adam Hasner for the Senate in Florida. I also know that Javier has been under sustained attack by Republicans in Bro ward County for exposing some rather shady shenanigans within the Broward County GOP. Because of that exposure, the local GOP has been out to get Javier. When I see user names like this and read stuff like this, the first think I think is that this is yet again another attack on Javier trying to get him back for exposing the reckless level of incompetence in Broward.
Javier does awesome work and that he’s drawing this sort of fire means he is really doing good work.
— Erick”
Thank You Erick for highlighting the fact that Lauder’s spin on this matter cannot withstand any serious scrutiny. Lauder should do his own reporting and stick to the facts rather than regurgitating news from other credible sources on the internet. Interestingly enough, on his application, Hamze stated that I, Javier Manjarres had ‘encouraged’ him to join the BREC, when what I really did was answer his question of whether he should go through with it or not, I simply told him what the criteria was to become a member, and if he met the criteria set by the Republican Party, he or anyone else could join the BREC. Hamze’s application lacked my signature next my name that he wrote in, and he took it upon himself to explain that I did not ask him to join- Hamze was planning to join regardless of any input he received from me.
The BREC’s history of shenanigans goes back a long ways with its past support of Governor Charlie Crist and their current support of Senate candidate George LeMieux. DeNapoli has also confided in members that he “would do everything to support” Joe Kaufman in his campaign for Congress. Kaufman is the chairman of Americans Against Hate, a Pro-Israel group that has been at odds with CAIR over the past years. Kaufman spoke out against Hamze, but he unfortunately represents a one-trick political pony style of candidate whose shrill delivery fits the mold of the stereotypical extremist candidate that the Democrat Party has long tried to caricature all Republicans as.
Joe Kaufman needs to be given full credit for exposing the fact the Hamze intended to join the Republican Party ranks. Last month at the Fort Lauderdale Tea party meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Kaufman announced to the crowd of about 100 that DeNapoli had told him that Hamze was going to apply to the BREC. Upon listening to Kaufman, I took it upon myself to reach out to Hamze to ask him if it was true, and what his real motive was to join. Kudos to Joe!
