Asked how to overcome global warming skepticism, top ClimateGate figure Jones said, 'make more of Greek fires' though some were 'started deliberately'

On 9/6/2007, ClimateGate Director Phil Jones was asked by European Peoples Party official Kremer for advice on overcoming global warming skepticism. Among Jones' suggestions via email was "to make more out of the Greek fires" even though "some may have been started deliberately."

Christian,

There is not a lot wrong with the science part of your document (the first 10pp).
It is, after all, based on the IPCC Reports from earlier this year....A few thoughts....perhaps you need to make more of the Greek fires. I know
some may have been started deliberately
, but the conditions made them
worse. There might be some monetary costs of these (in addition to the human deaths),
as well as saying what resources will be needed to replant and how long
it is going to take (>30 years probably) to get the forests back.
