Well established fake Tea Party group 'The Tea Party Leadership Fund PAC' uses Karl Rove services per 2012 FEC documents

.
The Tea Party Leadership Fund“ PAC spent about $52,000 on House and Senate candidates in 2012. They spent $127,200 on anti-Obama ads. The group obviously didn't spend much on what its name implies, ie 'Tea Party' type candidates. On top of that, it apparently went to the trouble to use the services of Democrat secret weapon Karl Rove:

FEC documents show "Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies" and "Crossroads Media LLC"
mentioned frequently on The Tea Party Leadership Fund PAC 2012 filings.

Per Open Secrets, in 2012 the group took in $1,171,143. Per Sunlight, its expenditures during the 2012 cycle were only $169,172.

More on this fake Tea Party operation:

4/13/11, "Mystery Group Gets D.C. Help," TheTeaParty.net Offers Few Clues About Goals," The Hill, Janie Lorber

"A little-known, Arizona-based tea party organization has hired a prominent Republican operative to help advance its mission in Washington, D.C. But after more than a year in operation and hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations, it’s still not clear what the group’s mission actually is.

Todd Cefaratti, founder of TheTeaParty.net, announced last week that the group had hired a big Washington gun: governmental affairs specialist Donna Wiesner Keene, a veteran of the Bush and Reagan administrations and the wife of the incoming president of the National Rifle Association, [and longtime CPAC pres.] David Keene."...

This obviously fake Tea Party group even co-sponsored a cruise with Grover Norquist in 2011:

7/27/11, "ACU and TheTeaParty.net Announce Two New Speakers for CPAC Alaskan Cruise"

"CPAC Cruise speakers include President of Americans for Tax Reform, Grover Norquist; former Secretary of Defense and Congressman, Donald Rumsfeld; President of the National Rifle Association and Vice-Chairman of CPAC, David A. Keene....

CPAC Cruise cosponsors include the American Conservative Union, The Washington Times, TheTeaParty.net and Americans for Tax Reform. www.washingtontimes.com  -  www.atr.org"

Comment: Pathetic enough to pal around with Grover Norquist. Obviously, much worse to do so under the Tea Party banner.
